Dylon's
tie-dye kit is suitable for use on cotton, linen, viscose and
polyester/cotton mixes.
Wash and rinse the article to be
dyed, even if new, and leave damp.
Tie the article using the rubber
bands supplied to achieve the required design.
Using a jug, add warm water to the
black line (above the word 'water') on each dye bottle. Replace the
cap securely, shake well, until all the dye at the bottom has been
dissolved.
Wearing rubber gloves, carefully
unscrew the nozzle tip of each bottle and apply dye to your article.
Squeeze each dye colour onto different areas to achieve the effect you
want. Make sure you open up folds of fabric and squeeze dye into them.
Colours can be mixed by applying one dye over another.
Place your finished article in a
clean plastic bag, seal the bag and leave to stand for at least 4
hours, preferably overnight.
Wearing rubber gloves, remove all
the ties by carefully snipping the rubber bands and rinse the article
thoroughly in cold water.
Machine wash the article on a 30ºC
'delicates' cycle or hand wash in lukewarm water. Dry away from direct
heat and sunlight. Wash separately for the first few washes to ensure
that excess dye is removed
